Translucent screw-pile rendering showing the stepped collar, tapered cast core and continuous helix

Features& benefits

Explore the helix geometry, material strength and installation benefits of Multiturn Screw Piles, from load capacity to removal and reuse.

What sets it apart

Engineered for demanding ground conditions

Multiturn Screw Piles combine patented helix geometry, cast steel and a three-stage installation process. The system supports a range of load and ground requirements while allowing removal and reuse.

Works in challenging soil

Handles heaving clay, acid sulphate soils, and areas prone to subsidence, without compromising structural integrity.

Low environmental impact

Easy to install and reuse, Multiturn Screw Piles leave a lighter footprint than traditional concrete-based foundations.

Specified for your loads

Light to heavy-duty helixes, shaft sizes and wall thicknesses.

001 / FEATURES & BENEFITS

Minimal environmental impact

A lighter footprint for sensitive sites, with piles that can be strategically placed, even between trees.

Multiturn Helix Screw Piles present a substantially lower environmental risk than concrete-based foundation systems.

There are no chemical additives introduced into the soil, no risk of concrete leachate entering the water table, and no disruption to the soil structure or the organisms that inhabit it. Because the piles can be fully removed at end of use, the long-term footprint on the site is minimal.

Despite their low environmental impact, Multiturn Screw Piles remain suitable for heavy load applications.

A range of light to heavy-duty helixes and steel shaft sizes and wall thicknesses can be specified to meet varying load capacity requirements, with compatibility across both round and square shaft configurations. This flexibility allows the system to be engineered to the specific demands of each project rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution.

Helical design allows removal and re-use

A foundation that can be unscrewed, relocated and used again as your project changes, especially for site sheds.

Read more about helical design allows removal and re-use

The helical form of the pile creates a screw effect that works in both directions.

Piles can be cleanly extracted and relocated without damage to the surrounding ground. Structures such as site sheds have long relied on this system precisely because the pile and helix can be unscrewed and moved to a new location as required.

The helix edge

How the Multiturn helixgives our design an edge

The Multiturn Helix is the core of what makes this system work.

01

Geometry

The reduced diameter of the Multiturn Helix represents up to 30% cost savings on materials compared to traditional screw pile designs.

02

Penetration

As the pile is driven into the ground, the helix penetrates clays, gravels and shales, displacing loose material rather than disturbing the surrounding soil profile. Unlike a standard plate helix, the Multiturn cutting edge is capable of penetrating some rock.

300 – 600MPa yield

The steel used throughout (Cast Steel Alloy ASTM 216 WCB) offers a yield strength range of 300 to 600 MPa.
